The University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG) is one of the largest academic hospitals in the Netherlands and plays a leading role in providing complex care, education, and research. In recent years, UMCG has invested in upgrading its facilities to create a safe, efficient, and future-ready environment for both patients and staff.
As part of this commitment, the hospital renewed the Hotfloor, including the operating rooms. For this major development, Metaflex contributed by supplying and installing several advanced door solutions tailored to the strict requirements of a surgical environment.
Solutions
To meet the operational and safety standards of the new Hotfloor, UMCG selected different Metaflex door systems. Among the solutions delivered were:
-
Hermetic sliding doors for optimal airtight sealing, reducing contamination risks and ensuring controlled airflows.
-
Fire-resistant doors (EI1), adding an essential layer of safety by preventing fire and smoke from spreading in critical areas.
-
Intelligence door solutions, ensure hermetic sealing and integrate smart LED signals to provide clear information in critical areas.
With these systems, Metaflex supports UMCG in maintaining the highest hygiene and safety standards in one of the most critical areas of the hospital.
