Solutions
Metaflex has delivered automatic Metaflex Glass doors for the Coronary Care Unit at LUMC. This department requires intensive care, longer monitoring or observation. Airtight glass doors therefore contribute to a transparent and safe environment for patients and staff.
LUMC has been using Metaflex doors for quite some time. Great user experience in the past was decisive according to project leader Thorvald Laken to apply Metaflex doors again: “Metaflex doors have become the standard within the hospital. The doors are great. Some strong points are for example the drive, they are almost fault-free and they function properly.”
Process
Laken says the cooperation with Metaflex went smoothly. In addition, Laken emphasizes the importance of the preliminary process: “The right door solutions were fully discussed before the tender and worked out at drawing level. They were also discussed with the architect in this way. He then was able to process everything in the design and the details included in the tender. In short; everything has already been discussed and elaborated well in the preliminary phase.”
According to Laken, the LUMC is also satisfied with the result: "This is the result we wanted. We are also very pleased with the assembly. The mechanic worked hard day in and day out to deliver a good result."
A nice bonus, according to Laken, is the easy maintenance of the door systems. Because the hospital has several Metaflex door systems, they know the systems well. Minor faults can often be solved by the technical department itself and thus long-term disruptions are prevented.
