From 12 - 14 April 2016, Metaflex participated in a trade mission to the province of Bavaria in Southern Germany.
This mission was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency and diplomatic mission network in Germany in collaboration with the FME and the Task Force Health Care.
The mission was led by Minister Ploumen for Foreign Trade and Developmental Cooperation. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima accompanied the mission and paid a working visit to the cities of Munich, Nuremberg and Erlangen. In total, approximately 100 companies took part in the mission.
The objective for Metaflex was to investigate possible collaborations in healthcare. Sustainability and innovation were central during the mission. Bavaria is one of the most prosperous states in Germany and is the largest in terms of surface area. Important sectors that are located there include the car industry and the high-tech and medical industry.
Take care of each other
In Bavaria, healthcare is provided to 12.5 million inhabitants in 364 hospitals and more than 300 healthcare related facilities. The population is ageing giving rise to the question how healthcare can remain affordable and accessible, while at the same time increasing the quality of healthcare. Approximately 180 companies that are engaged in X-ray technology and e-health are located in Bavaria. (Source: Task Force Health Care)
Metaflex visited robot manufacturer KUKA in Augsburg and Siemens Healthcare in Erlangen where medical scan equipment (MRI) is produced. The experiences were very positive and valuable contacts have been made. We are very grateful to all organizations and host companies that have made this mission possible.
